Oprah tells you how to be happy.
Watched the Oprah show today. Guest was Goldie Hawn and the subject was how to be happy. Research shows that more money doesn’t make you happier, after you make 75,000 a year for a family of four.
About 33% of the US population lived by the poverty line in 2009. I guess they are too happy.
So how come President Obama’s State of the Union speech, was the first of a democratic president, since Harry Truman’s State of the Union speech since 1948, that doesn’t mention poverty or the plight of the poor. (According to Charles Blow, NYTimes, 01/29/2011.)
